A WARM WELCOME, STUNNING VIEWS AND ALL YEAR PLAYABILITY AWAIT YOU AT CLYNE GOLF CLUB
Welcome to the Clyne Golf Club website. Clyne lies at the entrance to the beautiful Gower Peninsula, the UKs first designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
Designed by the legendary Harry Colt in the 1920’s, this moorland course offers a fine test of golf for all levels of handicap. Clyne prides itself on the fact that they have all year round grass tees and championship quality greens.
Clyne is listed among Peter Alliss’s 200 best golf courses in the British Isles and the course enjoys commanding views in all directions. Indeed, Peter’s father Percy Alliss was Clyne’s first professional in 1920.
The venue for the 2014 South Wales Girls Championships, the 2014 Glamorgan Men’s County Championship, the 2016 Glamorgan County Junior Championship and the 2016 Welsh Team Handicap Qualifier, the course enjoys stunning 360˚ views, overlooking Swansea to the east, the Bristol Channel and Mumbles to the south, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons to the north and with the commanding heights of Gower’s Cefn Bryn to the west.
“By common consensus this is the best course we have played on our many trips to Wales. Great condition, every hole presenting a different challenge … greens in excellent condition. The wind here too made it a more than interesting challenge and the views were some of the best we have seen. Pro-shop welcome was exceptional and the club house staff were really excellent and you felt like you were being treated like a member. Everyone wants to return there, I needn’t say more.” Mr Edwards, Sept 2017
