The dedicated section for 18+ handicappers
Clyne Golf Club has the most active Stones Section in the area!
The Stones Section is specifically designed for members with handicaps of 18 or over. It is the ideal forum for those relatively new to golf – including juniors – to improve their game, as well as offering more experienced members, or those returning to golf, the opportunity to compete on a weekly basis with members of similar ability.
It also provides the opportunity to play competitive team golf against Stones teams of other clubs in the area. In addition, the section runs various annual Stones competitions, normally two “away-days” a year visiting other golf clubs and a variety of social functions. Members within the handicap range are strongly encouraged to join – your club needs you, and it’s great fun!
The backbone of Stones golf at Clyne is the weekly 9-hole stableford competition, played every Monday. Many members play late afternoon or early evening, although start times are normally permitted throughout the day. They are competitive but sociable events after which modest prizes are awarded in the bar to the best performers on the day. Weekly scores count towards the Stones Golfer of the Year competition.
The Stones season begins at the start of British Summer Time and runs every Monday through the summer months.
Do come along and join in – you will be most welcome!
